That's right, it's the 23rd anniversary of Augusta 84. Some of you who were there can describe this better than I, but if you are not familiar with this show, make a note to give just a little time to it tommorrow. There is a SBD up, but I much prefer this one: http://www.archive.org/details/gd84-10-12.aud.ladner.31014.sbeok.flacf
The sound is fuller and you get the crowds full reaction to what they are experiencing, which is just amazing. I would go into detail about the show, but I will let you make your own decision if you elect to give this show a listen. For those new to this show I will just say that the raw emotion Jerry whips out in the Dew will send shivers up your spine. And if you don't want to wait until tommorrow? By all means get a Head start

Well, I guess the party's over. The shit-hurlers have returned.

Why bring any problems from your site over here? It's like me going to my neighbor's house and bitching about my dog peeing on my carpet. Guess what? They don't care.

Sorry--early era hijack in progress...

Have to go with 10-12-68, Avalon, as the best on this day (tomorrow).

Well, okay--you have a right to go with another year since I truly beat this one into the ground.

Nonetheless, tomorrow we can revisit it in detail--always worth it. And, the short, sweet, single disk wonder of it (total just at 80 min) makes it easily accessible no matter your time constraints...

Hey, two great shows in one day is more than worth the time. Thanks for the reminder. Looks like tommorrow is gonna be a good day.

Hey, when it comes to good show recommendations, it's not a hijacking.

True, that is messed up and very, very wrong. But I'm not sure what we can do about it here. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears (and if you've seen any pics of me, I'm not kidding...)

I am glad folks even looked. Hey the most you could do is recognize and ignore from here on out. That is what I plan to do. I still will post my limited dead related items and the occasional non dead but I will never again read or respond to another post from... I won't even mention the name again untill the song comes out. I should have never taken it out on this forum but I am only human, just trying to promote our songs with a few friends and groupie girlfriends (they think we are famous). Again. sor... oh shit last time I apologized I got a million duplicate posts... better not.

Well said and appreciated. I fully understand your anger at the actions taken out at your expense. Let's hope that we can go forward with less acrimony. I wish nothing but the best for your musical endeavours.

Thanks, and I think I said this before, you're alright and I am a skeptical cynic. And so in typical self promoting fashion I present an uplifting and positive guitar song that is only slightly none dead.

Hopefully this will mellow everyone out and make peace.

Thanks for the gift, NC. It has a really nice Kwai Chang Caine and the Texas Tornadoes feel to it. Kudos to you, my man! Path to Sunshine was good in a Kevin Ayers kind of way too - if that doesn't strike you as too weird.

Thanks for the review, rastawolf freedomflow! I am on to you all...

Jim Messina (born James Messina, December 5, 1947, in Maywood, California) was a member of Buffalo Springfield, then an original member of the country rock band Poco, before he joined with Kenny Loggins to form the soft rock duo, Loggins and Messina.

Beware...

What've you've experienced is defn wrong--in anybody's book. I for one am sorry; I enjoyed your site (visiting prior to the holocaust!).

Though you and I might not see eye to eye on some matters (my smoking jacket attempts at writing--overdone often, I admit!), I am happy to chime in with SDH and others to voice outright anger over this sort of thing happening to you...

Hang in there.

Calling? Almost growling. This is one show I will never tire of. Always looking for an exuse to cue it up. And finding the first set here only cemented my appreciation for this show. This truly smokes right out of the gate with that sweet Stranger opener.

Gutsy move on the "Dont Need Love" admission. I will say, however, that of all the versions I've heard, this one is the best.

When I first stumbled across the Archive and realized it's power, this was the first show I looked for. Was one of the first tapes I can remember hitting me so hard that I knew my life had changed. Wore that sucker out in no time. Finding it here was a very happy day indeed.

yup one of the few tapes I bothered to rerecord. The original has long since bit the dust and now that we have archive probably the other one will too. Just glad the power of this show never fades no matter how many times I listen to it.
